The title of this monotype is derived from the origin of the word, "Sine":
"1585–95; < Neo-Latin, Latin sinus a curve, fold, pocket, translation of Arabic jayb literally, pocket, by folk etymology < Sanskrit jiyā, jyā chord of an arc, literally, bowstring."
I am entranced by what is behind the surface. This monotype is about the motion of wind (the arc) and layers of energy and form floating behind and above it.
Monotype, 23.5x17.5 on 100% rag paper.
